An agluu appears as nothing more than a torch-sized shimmering light. These creatures are different colors, such as orange, green, and red. They float several inches to several feet off the ground but can never rise to a height greater than seven feet. They move at a speed of 2 but can dart swiftly if necessary. Their shimmering produces light in a 15-foot radius and can be mistaken for a torch, lantern, or other light source from a distance.

These creatures naturally produce an electrical static charge that they release every three turns. If a creature is standing within 30 feet of the monster when it happens, the victim sustains 1d4 actual damage from the electrical release. The attack affects one victim and automatically hits. Someone could mistake this for an attack, but it is not purposeful.

Agluu are attracted to magic and drain spell points from wizards. Agluu automatically negate any spell cast within 100 feet of it and consume the spell points needed to cast the spell. An agluu can drain and convert an unlimited number of spells per turn. In the case of an enchanter whose spells are maintained, an agluu negates a random spell, one per turn, and consumes its power.

The consumption of spell points amplifies their electrical static charge, increasing its discharge range by 10 feet and damage by +1 actual damage per spell level of consumed spells.

Agluu are immune to non-magical weapons, poison, disease, fear, and mind-affecting attacks. The magic-draining ability does not harm magical weapons or relics but destroys any enchanted weapon that strikes it.

When an agluu is killed, the creature explodes, causing 3d4 actual damage to all creatures within a 30-foot radius. Any wizards in the area of effect suffer damage but have a 5% chance of gaining a permanent +1 power increase due to the creature’s magical energies.

Agluu live in dark forests and swamps. They can sense the use of magic at a range of 500 feet and always approach to drain spells. They do not possess a formalized intelligence.
