Giant lizards are eight feet long and weigh approximately two hundred pounds. These beasts have a dark gray to black coloration and massive jaws filled with sharp teeth. Their clawed feet enable them to climb craggy surfaces such as trees and dungeon walls with 100% accuracy. Giant lizards use their nostrils and tongues to smell potential prey up to a maximum distance of 60 feet.

A giant lizard uses its powerful jaws to attack. Not only does this attack inflict 2d4 damage, but it also injects the victim with poison. With each successful hit, the victim must make a saving throw vs. poison or become confused. Confused victims suffer a -1 AV and -1 damage modifier for a period of 2d6 hours. The effects of the poison are cumulative with each unsuccessful saving throw.

Male and female giant lizards have the same characteristics. Young lizards have one-half the health and damage potential as an adult specimen. The young lizard’s poison is weaker, and victims gain a +3 saving throw modifier against the venom.

These lizards thrive in subterranean areas. They hunt in packs between two to four and feed on small to medium-sized animals and humanoids.
