Animated from the remains of dead canines, these monstrous dogs stand nearly four feet at the shoulder and possess large jaws. Their flesh is rotting, and their eyes are sunken. Their bones are visible in some areas. Muldogs are aggressive and evil by nature and seek to devour all living things. They have undead vision with a 60-foot range.

As undead, these creatures are immune to fear, disease, poison, and mind-affecting spells. They do not require air, sleep, or sustenance. They are mindless, evil, and focused on the destruction of all living things. Exposure to direct sunlight causes a muldog 1 point of damage per minute.

In melee combat, a muldog attacks with its savage bite. Each hit inflicts 1d8 damage and forces the victim to make a saving throw vs. disease (-2) or contract necromasia.

Muldogs also emit a foul odor when in combat. All humanoids (except higmoni) within melee range with the creature suffer a -2 AV because of the reek.

Necromancers, or creatures using evil magic, can create muldogs. They serve as guardians for their creator’s strongholds, but some guard underground shrines to forgotten, evil gods.
