Spike. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Remlocks are humanoids that stand nine feet tall. They have bulbous foreheads, a single bloodshot eye, and large vertical mouths that open sideways to reveal short, jagged teeth. Dozens of spiny tentacles surround their mouths, and these tentacles undulate on their own accord. Wiry hair covers their bodies, and leather scales shield their faces. Remlocks have two arms that end in long spikes that the creature uses to pierce armor. They have darkvision with a 60-foot range and are keenly aware of their surroundings. Remlocks are only surprised 20% of the time.
The monster’s scaly hide protects it from melee weapon attacks. Slashing and piercing weapons inflict one-half damage. All other weapons and magical attacks have normal effects.
Males and females have the same general characteristics, except females inflict only 1d8 damage per attack. Young remlocks have one-half the health and damage potential as adults.
These creatures are evil-minded, savage, and unintelligent. They will attack anything that encroaches on their territory but are friendly with ogres and giant-kind. Remlock speak their own language, ogre, and giant.
Remlocks live in mountains, hills, swamps, and wilderness areas. They thrive in any climate. As carnivores, they hunt bears, boars, deer, goats, rams, and other animals. When a remlock feeds, it squats down so its spiny tentacles can rip apart the corpse and pull the food into its jaws.
