Glimmer moths resemble the ordinary white moth but are nearly ten times their size. They feed on cotton, waste, and rotting plant material. Glimmer moths are destructive to clothing and devour it ravenously. Even though they appear ordinary, the wings of these insects glow for 2d4 hours after eating. This glow extends to a 5-foot radius and provides ample light to see. These insects are not aggressive toward living creatures and are afraid of fire.
Reports have placed large numbers of these creatures on battlefields after a war, devouring the uniforms of fallen soldiers. Children of different cultures attempt to catch them in makeshift cages. In captivity, these insects tend to survive only a few days.
